1 (12 ounce) package (approximately 2 cups) of semi-sweet or dark chocolate Chips
1/4 Cup butter or margarine
2 1/2 Cups flour
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon shortening or oil
1 package Chocolate Candy Kisses - unwrapped (up to 60 individual Kisses)
2 ounces white baking bar or white candy coating

Heat oven to 350 degrees. In medium saucepan, combine chocolate chips and butter; cook and stir over very low heat until chips are melted and smooth. Add unsweetened condensed milk; mix well.

In medium bowl, combine flour, chocolate mixture and vanilla; mix well. Shape 1 Tablespoon of dough around each candy Kiss, covering completely. Place Bon Bons 1 inch apart on un-greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes. DO NOT OVER BAKE. Cookies will be soft and appear shiny, but will become firm as they cool. Remove from cookie sheets; cool.

In small saucepan, combine white baking bar and shortening; cook and stir over low heat until melted and smooth. Drizzle over cookies.

Store Bon Bons in a tightly covered container. You can freeze extras - if you have any....

By the way, these Bon Bons are absolutely delightful with a glass of red wine.

Sometimes I'm Just Mean

I am just so mean. I am drooling over the new fleece fabrics we just received and admiring the deep, rich colors of these soft warm fabrics.
