You Wear Scrubs. Your Kids Think You Are Awesome.

Whether you wear nursing scrubs, veterinary scrubs, food service scrubs, or scrubs for any other reason, your kids think your scrubs are cool. Your scrubs identify you as a professional in your field. Your kids respect that. They admire you and they want to be just like you.

You know how it feels to walk down a hall, wearing your scrubs, and know that you just helped a patient; a family; a child. Helping others is rewarding and makes you feel good. You know how good that feels. No wonder your kids think you are awesome. Your kids want to help others too, just like you do, and because you’re so awesome, they want to dress like you, too. That’s why we make Kids Scrubs at Sassy Scrubs.

Kids love to play dress-up in Kids Scrubs. They love to pretend they are a nurse; a doctor; veterinarian; dentist – just like you. Kids Scrubs are just the ticket for comfortable and safe Halloween costuming or for career day at school. Kids Scrubs are great for “take your child to work” day and for just playing around the house. With Kids Scrubs, you encourage your child to dream and pretend. Kids Scrubs broaden the imagination, so your kids can be anything; anyone. So they can be you.

Help your children dream of what they can become. They can’t be a smart-talking sponge, thank goodness, and they can’t be a skyscraper crawling crime-fighter or a real princess. But they can dream of helping people, just like you do. Help your kids dream a real dream and order them some Kids Scrubs. Help them dream to be you. Because you really are awesome. It's what your kids think.

The Importance of College Education

During an individual's High School career, they may begin to question the importance of a college education. They find themselves asking the question, "Is College really worth it?" The answer to this question is more likely, yes! Attending college provides graduates with many more opportunities that aren't available to those who have no higher education.

For manyt high school students, the ability to immediately generate an income after graduation may be an appealing thought. They may also be dissuaded by the rising cost of tuition. While it is true that a higher education may be one of the largest expenses one will ever face, the importance of a college education has been quite evident in terms of earning potential in today's economy.

A college education can lead to more opportunities in working life, especially for higher paid occupations. When persuing a continued education, students could gain opportunities to work with some outstanding professionals in their field of study. Individuals would also become aware of what is accessible to them within different levels of education.

Many programs such as those in Medicine, Nursing, OT, PT, and others offer challenging and rewarding careers after graduation. If you are in one of these programs you'll be preparing for many opportunities available to you once your college education is complete. Realizing your college education is an investment into your future is the first step.

Baby Hats President’s Post

I just had to share these adorable baby hats with you. They were sent to us by Maureen from Convent Station, New Jersey, to send to an orphanage in China. You probably know that we send baby blankets and quilts, made by our own Sassy Scrub fabric scraps, to children in China's orphanages. Rather than fill up our local landfills with useful fabric scraps, we use the to keep babies warm in usually ill-heated facilities where they are raised.

We recently discovered that the children can use warm, soft caps too. Generous individuals like Maureen have been sending us baby and children's caps we can tuck into our boxes of blankets. If there is one thing that we've found through this endeavor, it's that the world is full of generous people. Thank you so much, Maureen, and the other individuals who have helped us keep "our" orphans warm.

Support Our Troops!

Sassy Scrubs, a custom medical uniforms manufacturer and e-tailer, from Penn Yan, NY, recently continued their efforts to support American service members by donating two large boxes of scrub pants. These garments were requested by US troop hospitals in Germany and the Middle East for use by staff and patients, who use the scrub pants as comfortable sleepwear.

Company President, Karen Bradley, states “We have participated in the Landstuhl Hospital Care Project for many years now, and through this organization, can determine what the real needs are for our servicemen and women.” In the past, this has meant donating scrub tops for front line medics; scrub pants for wounded patients and hospital staff; and colorful surgical caps for use by hospital surgeons and medics in the field. Another regular need which has been met by Sassy Scrubs in the past is patriotic themed med bags, for storage of patient personal effects, records, and medications as they are transported from field to hospital. To lift spirits at the holidays, Sassy Scrubs is also working to send Christmas Stockings, which have been requested, to the service members who’ll be visiting the overseas hospitals at holiday time.

Since the medical uniform manufacturer custom makes all the garments they produce, Sassy Scrubs is ready at a moment’s notice to focus on a specific need to help US troops. “We keep an eye on the needs as they are posted”, states Bradley, “and help when we can fulfill a request.” The Company expects to continue their donations to support American service members as long as there is a need.

Sassy Scrubs is Offering a New Mock Wrap Top

Sassy Scrubs, the USA based manufacturer and e-tailer of custom made Hospital and Medical Nursing Scrub Uniforms, recently unveiled their new, innovative scrub top design. The Penn Yan, New York company noticed the popularity of Asian themed garments in all areas of ladies fashion. This realization led Sassy Scrubs to design their own Mock Wrap Top with a feminine Asian feel. “This design presents a distinctly feminine option to join our line of standard unisex garments” explains company President, Karen Bradley, stating the scrub top was designed with the comfort of nurses and other uniformed professionals in mind.

Since the company custom makes all their garments, Sassy Scrubs is able to offer this Mock Wrap Top with a one-of-a-kind customizable trim option. Customers can choose from 14 different solid fabrics for the unique trim piece to coordinate, or contrast, with the print or solid color fabric they choose for their garment. With hundreds of fabrics from which to choose for their garments, the ability to select from 14 different trim options allows the customer literally thousands of combinations for their custom made Mock Wrap Top.

“We have many customers who have color restrictions where they work”, states Bradley, “with units or departments required to wear certain colors for identification”. The Sassy Scrubs option to choose those colors in the trim of their garments could allow the customer to meet the requirements of their job, but still be allowed more freedom in the fabrics they choose for their overall garment. Fabric and trim color, combined with petite and tall length options, in sizes from XXXS to 9XL, means this scrub top will bring fashionable uniform choices to nearly everyone.

Sassy Scrubs’ design is unique since no other uniform retailer offers its customers a Mock Wrap Top with thousands of color choice combinations. “At Sassy Scrubs, we’re all about choice and since we custom make every garment, we designed our new Mock Wrap Top to offer even more fabric and color options.” explains Bradley. Sassy Scrubs has introduced their new garment on their website at http://www.sassyscrubs.com/.

Sassy Scrubs Gets a Smile From Eaves Family Dental with the Perfect Custom Scrub Uniforms

Sassy Scrubs, a Penn Yan, NY based manufacturing and e-tailer of custom scrubs succeeded in keeping a local dental office smiling by designing custom scrub uniforms to meet the legal requirements for dental uniforms. Eaves Family Dental was pleased to find a local company that could meet their specialized uniform needs. Sassy Scrubs is located less than five miles from Eaves Family Dental and makes made-to-order scrubs. The dental staff found that Sassy Scrubs fits their uniform needs like no other company can.

Eaves Family Dental, which specializes in cosmetic dentistry, implants, full arch reconstruction, and family dentistry, was founded in 1984 and employs a number of dental professionals and reception staff. The practice searched for a cohesive looking uniform that met the specialized needs of its entire staff, and was unsuccessful until they found Sassy Scrubs.

Sassy Scrubs provided custom tailored uniforms to the staff in coordinating colors, custom sizes, and hard to find styles such as long-sleeved scrubs. The law requires that dental professionals wear protective clothing, including long sleeves, and the staff had been struggling for a workable solution. Now, the staff is outfitted in long-sleeved scrubs, with no bulky jackets in the way of their work.

Anne Olmstead, a dental assistant at Eaves Family Dental, reported that the staff was very happy with their Sassy Scrubs and happy to have found the customization and continuity that they had been searching for right down the road.

"We were happy to work with a local business and provide them with uniforms that fit their needs perfectly," said Karen Bradley, owner of Sassy Scrubs, “especially when we know they are providing such fantastic care in our community.”

I Love Sandals! How About You?

I simply love sandals! In fact, one of my favorite things about Spring weather is that I get to go into my closet and pull out all of those great sandals and cute little shoes that have been hibernating all winter! And if they look a little too worn out from last year, what better way is there to spend a rainy Spring day than shopping for new shoes!

I work in an office setting, and sandals are so much easier to kick off during the day than a pair of sneakers or boots! I'm sure my mother still cringes when she hears about me running around in my bare feet. I just can't help myself. Not only do I despise having my feet trapped all day while I work, I love the feel of fresh grass between my toes in the Spring and warm beach sand or hot grass under my feet in the Summer!

Does anyone else out there have a sandal or shoe fetish?! Come on, I can't be the only one. I'm curious..... After a long day spent in nursing shoes or Crocs, what do you like to slip into at home for comfort?

Now, let's take our shoe fetish to another level....Scrubs! Have you ever thought about featuring shoes on your scrubs? Did you know that Sassy Scrubs features scrubs with SHOES! Visit us at Sassy Scrubs and see what the excitement over shoes is all about.

Sometimes I'm Just Mean

I am just so mean. I am drooling over the new fleece fabrics we just received and admiring the deep, rich colors of these soft warm fabrics. Now, I'm going to gloat about how warm they are and about what terrific Sassy Scrubs they'll make. I know you can't see them. I know you can't touch them. But I can. Isn't that so mean?

Well, they'll be posted on our website very soon and you'll be able to see them and choose them for your custom made Sassy Scrubs jackets, scrub tops or scrub pants. But, you'll have to wait until they're in your mailbox to feel them. So, yep, still mean. At least it's a temporary thing. As soon as you try on your new fleece Sassy Scrubs, you'll be thinking, "Yes, she's so mean, but she is so right."

And I'd rather be right than mean. So we'll get these fleeces put in our fabric line up right away so I can stop being mean and start being right.

What Are Linen Scrubs, Anyway?

The name “Linen” refers to fabric made from fibers from the flax plant, either alone, or in combination with a percentage of cotton, or less frequently even other fibers, like bamboo. The natural color of linen ranges between shades of ivory, tan or grey – it is a natural fabric and these are natural colors. The fabric produced from the linen threads has a recognizable texture with a crisp and textured feel to it.

Scrubs made from linen have the ability to absorb and lose water quickly. They can gain up to 20% moisture without feeling damp and can quickly remove perspiration from the skin. This makes
Linen Scrubs a perfect choice for nurses who work in hot or stressful environments and who wish to keep cool – a perfect summer scrubs choice! Since Linen Scrubs are a bit stiffer, though still soft, they are less likely to cling to your skin. When Linen Scrubs billow away from your body they dry out rapidly and become cool, so that the skin is continually touched by a cool surface. Sounds nice, doesn’t it?

Linen Scrubs are indeed strong and durable and linen is one of the few fabrics which is stronger when it is wet than it is when dry. This helps it maintain durability through the constant launderings scrubs must endure. Linen Scrubs are naturally resistant to dirt and stains due to the nature of the flax fibers. For nurses, this is great news.

Now that you understand all the wonderful features of comfortable, natural Linen Scrubs, treat yourself to new Sassy Scrubs Linen Scrubs and feel for yourself what everyone is talking about.
